Before this class, part of me forgot that one day I was going to actually have to teach science for my class, let alone understand that there was a certain way teachers should teach it. It has become such an under appreciated subject that even future teachers can forget the importance. This class changed all my previous opinions and showed me the true importance of science that I would have never realized before. One of the many things that have stuck with me is, if you teach in a meaningful way then the whole class benefits. I am walking away understanding that science is much more then meets the eye. That there are ways to make students feel excited and intrigued to learn science, for example, discrepant events. Additionally, I learned that science is just as important as math, social studies, reading, writing, etc. Teaching kids in a way that promotes inquiry, questioning, problem-solving, forming predictions and hypothesize is important not only for science, but it helps them with situations in the real world. I understand now that teaching science should not be teacher facilitated. As teachers we must create a structured environment where students are free to act as mini scientist. Teachers must make students believe that they are capable of doing anything a scientist can do, because they
