Beethoven's Symphony Orchestra Concert Report Sample

I attended Beethoven’s Emperor, performed by the Grand Rapids Symphony at the DeVos Performance Hall on March 18, 2016. First off, I was not expecting the performance to be as long as it was. Attending this concert after a long day at work was the last place I wanted to be.
Classical music, would not be my choice of music to listen to at the end of a long work week. However, much to my surprise, I actually enjoyed the performance. I was very relaxed after the concert. I almost fell asleep close to the end of the concert.
I had only been to a classical performance from by the symphony orchestra back in elementary or middle school. I played the violin from 5th through 7th grades.
Upon arriving at the performance hall, the first thing I noticed was the

The pianist came onto the stage. This phase was interesting because it was like a back and forth, kind of like a duet, between the piano and the rest of the orchestra. The pianist and the conductor used their entire body in their performance. You could feel their passion. When the music was to be hard, the pianist played the piano mezzo piano and mezzo forte. It was moderately changing in range from soft to loud. This phase was about 40 minutes long, which was mainly the pianist.
The third phase was very mellow through its entirety. It was soothing. It almost put me to sleep. This was the most relaxing part for me. Just as my eyes were closing, the drums became dissonance. The music then returned to a slow pace. By the end of the performance, all the sounds were running together in my head. I could not tell the difference between horns, violins or percussions.
All in all, the concert was a great experience. Would I have gone if it were not for an assignment? Probably not. Will I go back on my own enjoyment? Probably not unless it is an opera. I would love to experience that. This was something different which is what I anticipated from the

Overall I expected it to be a great performance, and it is safe to say my expectations were met. There was a lot of kids, and babies in attendance which I didn’t expect at all. The performance put on by the Orchestra was great. When the director of the orchestra entered the stage everyone in the audience gave him an applause as he starts to greet the audience, and talk about the performance. The projector behind the performers had videos, and drawings displayed that was turned into amination, and it brought the drawings to life while making the story more entertaining.…

It was very soothing and relaxing to listen to. The music that the group produced was smooth throughout the concert. In the second song, the trumpet player used the technique of covering the hole of the trumpet where the sound comes out of with his hand and it made the trumpet sound similar to the trombone. The music was smooth and slow enough that one could move to it and follow along with it.…

The pieces met my expectation, because the tone of it was very interesting especially on how it started and how it progressed during the play. I enjoyed the music because it was inspirational like humanity accomplished a great feat, also how. Also the demeanor o the musicians looked very concentrated and as for the audience they appeared to be comfortable and interested. This effected my impression of the music because the audience weren’t reacting with the tone of the music which made in confusing for myself on how to react. I would attend the concert again because it is interesting to hear and it’s a piece of history that many individuals do not appreciate and take their time to listen to something classic and beautiful the roots of music.…

The staccato notes also made he piece became more thrilling and amusing just like when you watching Tom and Jerry. The drum part also made the song more excited and dramatic with many alterations in tempo and dynamic. As the piece came to an end, the music actually got louder, faster, and was more dramatic with the performance of the drums. Eventually, the piece ended with an alarm sound. It was an excellent way to particularly end the piece this way because it seems like the whole performance was just a dream just like the name of the piece, and we are finally waking up from a beautiful…

With this concert, I was not too sure what expect seeing a vocalist, piano player and a clarinetist, but this has turned out to be my favorite concert thus far. I enjoyed how different it was from the other concerts with the music they played was more enjoyable, modern and upbeat. A positive aspect I took from this performance, was inviting and friendly the performers were. It is not everyday where they invite you to sit on stage while they do their performance because they want you to feel like you are a part of it. I really did find much negativity to this performance, besides the fact it was most sung in a different language and hard to follow, but helped me learn more of different types of music.…

I do not think any words could have truly described how I nor the rest of the audience felt during that performance. The opinions and analogies of the pieces found in the program notes did slightly influence me. I agreed with and understood most opinions and comments of the performances. The listenings I did for my pre-concert assignment were not nearly the same thing as being in the auditorium. It was a completely different experience to see, hear and feel the performance in person as opposed to watching a video on a screen and trying to listen to the depth of the orchestra through…

The minutes before the concert seemed to go by extremely fast and before I knew it, the concert was here. When it was time for my first and easiest solo, my heart beat was pounding in my head and I could feel the sweat dripping off my instrument's keys, but the warm smile from the conductor as my first note sang out put me at ease, and I played a good solo. The performance continued and soon it was time for the big, super exposed one that seemed to end the concert. I completely forgot about the audience and other distractions, and it was just me, my music, the conductor, and the rest of the band playing. Time seemed to slow down, and I put as much heart into the music as I could possibly manage.…

It is great that we are showing music through social media to help people broaden their look on music. This symphony seemed like they were made to play with each other. The made very few mistakes and you could actually feel something about the music. The musicians made you feel as passionate as them about the music. At the beginning I got excited for the concert because of all the media they show on the ceiling and walls.…

Walking into the auditorium, I immediately noticed that the atmosphere of the concert was completely different from that of the classical concert I attended weeks earlier. To begin with, it seemed like there was much more of an audience. Everyone seemed excited for the concert to start. As for myself, I was also excited because, on the very front of the program, it said that there was a guest artist that was going to perform with the ensemble. The performers wore more of a business casual look, some were a little more dressed up than others, but overall they looked very well dressed.…

During the classical music concert the listeners keep their emotions and feeling inside and show those only after ending of the performance by applauding to the musicians. There is another interesting difference with applause. People show their empathy to artists at any time during or after song they perform in the case of the House band on the stage. In the case of New York Philharmonic concert there are only two reasons to applaud. The first is greeting and to show appreciation before the concert begins when the orchestra members will all be seated on the stage.…

At the concert, I was a perspective listener. The perspective listener is a combination of all of the listener types. A perspective listener enjoys the sound of the music but is also critically aware of how it makes them feel and why and it also makes associations with the music whether it being from a feeling or a memory. Going to the concert I was listening with great concentration, trying to hear every aspect of the piece.…

I attended the Stones River Chamber Players on February 29th. This was played in the Hilton Music Hall. When I was going in I did not know what to expect because I have never been to a music concert on the MTSU campus. There were around 60-70 people who attended this concert. Most of the individuals who attended were more than likely there for a class because more than half were students who did not understand the concept of staying off of their phone.…
