What I Have Done
The last five years of my career have been spent in the financial industry. My experience includes four tax seasons and two years of insurance and annuity sales. I have always enjoyed mathematics and as I have explored many of the career paths which utilize this skill, I have found the financial industry to be the most exciting. For this reason, I will soon complete my undergraduate degree in Accounting with a minor in Mathematics.
The accomplishment I’m proudest of is my experience managing a Liberty Tax office. During my time there, I was able to dramatically increase sales and revenue. I accomplished this by strategically reconfiguring the pricing model and marketing plan which resulted in an increase of 20% in revenue …show more content…
As the head programmer for the team, it was my responsibility to create a programmable strategy that could complete the given task (add high-level overview of task). The key to my success at the VEX was keeping the programs simple. As other teams were derailed by overly complicated strategies, I found that creating a simplified program to accomplish our goals, served to place our team in the top quartile and receive the award for best program at the EETA conference in 2014.
In my current position at Utah Retirement Consulting, I have enjoyed analyzing investment strategies for our clients. This has required me to become proficient in understanding financial statements and market trends. As I have worked to complete our client’s tax returns and advise them in their future investments, I ensure I partner with them to create a more sustainable financial …show more content…
Some of these tools include my Series 7, Life insurance and Property and Casualty insurance licenses. The most difficult to get but the most valuable of these tools is my Series 7. This test takes from a very broad range of financial information and to pass it you must have an even broader range of understanding.
