I have been given many opportunities to volunteer throughout this program and one that particularly stood out was working with the Ski to Sea race. Not only are you there with thousands of people and cheering them on during race day, but you are behind the scene days before setting up. You get to stretch your skills with planning and setting up the course and building teams to get jobs done in a timely manner. You realize you only have so many hours before race day and that jobs need to get done right the first time. This really put me in a situation working with a deadline and how to utilize the people around you and find the best way to meet your deadlines on time. On race day we were able to fully emerge ourselves with the racers and encourage them on their endeavors while providing a helping hand wherever it was needed. This let you find a need and fill it, whether it was pulling canoes out of the water while racers collapsed or handing out oranges or apples to tired athletes; you became a person that people could count on to help them

It is such an empowering feeling knowing even though my part was little it was still apart of a big plan. It is also so rewarding when seeing how truly grateful the organization is for each and every volunteer. The best benefit to me is meeting all of the extraordinary men and women who have been affected by breast cancer. Thousands of people die each year from this disease and being able to help make a difference for finding the cure is one of the best feelings. Their stories are of course heartbreaking but also admirable because they don’t give up.…

The two career paths that I will critically evaluate in this essay derive from the finance industry. I will use the financial bodies involved, which are the CISI and the ICAEW to portray the steps needed which may increase the chances of gaining access to the finance sector. One of my preferred career options is investment banking, I will talk about the capital markets programme provided by the CISI to gain exposure towards this career path. Another option as a career for me is corporate finance for which I will use the ICAEW to show the path which could lead to a career in this. One of the most important decisions a person can make is the choice of a career path. As early as kindergarten, adults will ask children what they want to be when they grow up. At the age of six, I thought I could grow up to be just like Carrie Underwood; obviously, that was a bit unrealistic, but this demonstrates the importance of the decision and the difficulty in selecting the best career path for the future. The probability of becoming an exact replica of the country singer was minute, so, unfortunately, I had to choose a different profession. Constantly changing my mind, I decided on a different career almost every year from then on.…
