I grew up primarily in Foreman, Arkansas, which is a small community. It was great growing up in a close community environment, and it resembles being part of a large family. Currently, I live in Horatio with my husband and two daughters. Horatio is another tight network of people with similar family aspects. Other than spending valuable time with my family, I have many interests. Some of my interests include reading Literature and spending my spare time writing. Overall, my goal is to create a learning community classroom which teaches my passion for English Language Arts. I believe having the ability to work in a classroom for the internship will only help me understand how to better achieve my goal. For several years, I have been working …show more content…
The classroom teaching experience and a chance to work under experienced teachers are the most important to me regarding what I want out of my internship. Even though I have been a teacher’s aide for several years, I still would never get what I can from my cooperative teacher during my internship. Hopefully I will learn the finer details of teaching from my cooperative teacher, including ways to improve my teaching, how to maintain classroom discipline, how to plan successfully, and how to deal with students with different abilities or learning problems. Out of this list, I believe I need strengthening in all. In teaching, there is always room for improvement and learning is always an endless cycle for improvement. This is why I really do not have any concerns regarding my internship. I feel that there are numerous benefits in joining a student teaching …show more content…
I can bring the information I have learned from my education classes and from my Paraprofessional position. For several years, I have worked as an IT technician for the school district and a teacher’s aide for seventh and eighth grade Keyboarding, Intro to Technology, and Career classes. I have also been a facilitator for the Virtual Arkansas classes for 9-12 grades during the same time. I was able to multi-task from one job duty to the other every day. Throughout all of these, I have obtained the experience to feel comfortable in the classroom. I also have flourished in technology and in my academics during the same time.
