My first semester of college has been such a major change from high school because Professor Collins was very detailed about what needs to be fixed and how to fix it. While I was in high school, my English teacher did not do a very good job at giving feedback. Also, having my classmates give ideas on what to write about always played a big part in writing my final draft. I also thought it was a crazy idea when Professor Collins told me that I should read my paper out loud but now I do it for every paper and will continue to do it. My biggest regret this semester was not going to the writing center more and waiting last minute to do my papers. I realize now that if I would have gone to the writing center more my papers would have been better. The three times that I was able to send my paper to the writing center I was very pleased because the feedback made a major difference in how I wrote my final draft. After reading over my rough and final drafts, I realized they all have two things that could use work on and it is the flow of my paragraphs and grammar. I still need to work on that but, I am happy with how far I have come as a writer. Taking this class has shown me my strengths and weakness in writing. Even though I am not very excited about writing essays in my next English class, I feel more confident than I did when I first started English 1157 because of Professor
