Real Word Connections In The Classroom

Through the classes I have taken at Touro college and my a six-years experience in the classroom, I have developed a personal teaching philosophy that will be applied into my future classrooms. I find my task as a teacher to promote students positive learning, to spark their interest for learning, and to provide strong foundations for their lifelong learning. One of my goals is creating a real word connections in my classroom so students would believe that they will be able to apply what they learn in their future. To achieve this goal, the I explain my students what they are going to learn for each lesson and how it would help in their future. I noticed that by sharing my passion for teaching and using these principles with enthusiasm helps me to stay connected with my students, and as a result, teaching with passion, clarity, and enthusiasm effectively impacts my students connecting them to their passion and lifelong learning. Highly effective teachers can have and enriching effect on children life and their future. Effective teachers not only make students feel good about learning, but also that their work results in their increased achievement (Tucher, 2014) Student teaching was the one of the most critical times for my development of my teaching philosophy. I came from different country with no English at all about 8 years along and went through the long process of evaluating my education I got in another country, learning English, learning new teaching strategies and approaching. New teachers have to be properly trained before “to jump” onto the real classroom. They need additional support from more experienced educators and Scholl administration. According to Doyle (1975), mentors could encourage new teachers to take initiatives and take part in the management. To help new teachers, the college programs should be changed to accommodate the problems that new teachers have when they come into the classroom. These problems can be partly solved if new teachers would have less obligations when they come into the classroom, because when new teachers have too many responsibilities, they have no time and no chance for the adjustment to the new for them
