The expecting mother and I continued our conversation and she began to ask me if it was difficult to be a Christian at a liberal arts college. Well, this is a tough question and we discussed it for quite some time. I won’t go into everything we discussed, but in summary I told her that yes, it is very difficult. There are constantly people putting me down because of my faith or judging me because I don 't want to live a lifestyle of this world. As Colton Dixon nicely put it, “I don 't want to gain the whole world and lose my soul.” So, yes it is difficult to go against the status quo, but it is also incredible. I see more deeply the way that God works in my life and in the other students around me. The challenges have strengthened my walk with Christ because I have to call upon him everyday for strength to withstand the temptations and to be as Christlike as I can be. At this point, I had already been waiting for two hours and my friend offered to come pick me up. I decided to wait, I figured it couldn 't take much longer. Our conversation began to die down and then her husband began to speak. He asked me more in-depth questions about my faith and my life. I could see the wheels turning in his eyes and I know he wasn 't just asking out of curiosity. We discussed the Christian lifestyle for about 30 minutes: we mostly spoke about what it means to truly love others even if we don 't agree with them. As a Christian, I am called to be Christlike.
