After a long grueling work day in the hot summer sun, I was finally driving home up I55 north. Traffic had yet to become congested, so my ride home was smooth sailing. I was thrilled because I knew the moment I got home and walked through that door, the weekend would officially start. Thoughts crossed my mind of what I wanted to do once I made it home. Did I want to play drums, watch a movie, or play a game; then it hit me, there was an amazing deal on new game I had wanted desperately called, Deep Black. I remembered that it had gone on sale earlier that week, and I could not contain my excitement. Deep Black was an action/shooter that was themed mostly underneath the water. It was about an all-out war between two world powers, underwater, who wouldn’t find it amazing! To make things even better; it was eighty percent off! The more I contemplated it, the more eager I was to be home. I pulled into our concrete driveway with the patience of an eight year old on Christmas Eve. I saw the front door as I turned my truck off. Excitement flooded my veins; I was almost to my liberation. I Jumped out of my truck, and raced up the driveway for the door; stopping to check the mail on the way.
I reach the door, bounding through like I was being chased by a zombie from “The Walking Dead.” The weight of the work week fell from my shoulders. My mother, who was sitting in our spacious living room enjoying her latest health novel asks, “Why are you in such a rush?” “On my way home I…
