It is the most vivid and joyful thing I remember there. My friends and I played many sports, but baseball was our favorite by a landslide. Despite not looking like a true baseball field, the structure of our “field” made it perfect for us to play because of the enormous size it was. Baseball at my complex brought tons of kids together from all different backgrounds who all had a deep love for the game. During the spring and summer days, we would play every day and the “field” would shine with vast rays of sunlight and the grass would be very crispy. I remember the loud the smack of the bat after the ball was hit, and the high level of emotion we were playing in to gain victory. At the end of the day, we all played for one purpose: unity. Unity represented the strong bond that all the kids had with each other no matter what their race or religion they belonged to. It changed me for the better and I am grateful I lived there because if I had not, I would not have been as open-minded to other people. I will forever remember those long days of baseball and all the events I participated in, but the thing I will remember the most is the diverse community that made me feel happy. Even though I now live in a privileged home, I realize that wealth does not give me a true feeling of a community like my good old apartment complex did. It really made me appreciate diversity and community, and it will always hold a significant place inside
