Home Depot is a place based around the customers, they strive to make and fulfill all of the needs the customers have and need to get done. Home Depot tries to make everyone feel as if they are at home in the store, even the staff. I personally work at Home Depot and can tell you that they store tries to make everything seem as on and i can say that the staff is like a family no matter what department you are or if you 're a new hire, everyone is treated the same. It all starts out for Home Depot by applying online. The application process is the first step to the start of a Home Depot life. After you apply and are called in for a interview, you do a drug test and they hire you for the job you applied for or they will offer you another spot as they did for me. This is an experience that i went in for knowing that i was getting a cashier job and once i was there they asked when i was gonna turn 18 and i was gonna turn it in a few days. They realized this and offered me to come back in when i did turn 18 and i would be offered to work in garden. This was awesome …show more content…
The training is the worst part and is the most boring part of the job. This training can take different amounts of time for different people, like the saying says different strokes for different folks. People can take from a few weeks to just 5 days. I can tell everyone that i finished in just a few days and it was really easy. I actually never watched the videos unless i had to but even then i did not listen or actually watch it. The only reason i ever did this is because i was told by people that already work there if you can get out of this as fast as you can because you learn everything on the floor, meaning that you forget everything and relearn it while working. This part still can be the hardest part of the job because you sit in the back and just use a computer for a straight 6 hours.Once you get through it though it is

Home Depot’s fiercest competitor is Lowe’s. “Home Depot achieved a growth rate of 8.2% and Lowe’s had a total comparable store sales growth rate of 6.2%”(Opinion: In Home Depot vs. Lowe’s, the winner is, 2015). Although Home Depot had a stronger fiscal year, Lowe’s is the closest competitor in the home improvement industry. In terms of leveraging paid, earned and owned media I will rank each separately on a 1-10 scale, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. For paid media, I would rank Home Depot a 6 out of 10 and competitor Lowe’s an 8. For earned media, I would rank Home Depot a 7 out of 10 and Lowe’s an 8.…

This letter is to express my interest in the position as a Residential Assistant for The New School. I also sent my resume showing my experience, competence and reliability as a team member. This position caught my eye as soon as I stepped foot on campus, my parents and I were introduced to Ms. Marsha Dawson at a mixer and through her I gained an awareness of the possibilities of becoming an RA. I then did my own research and came away with the sense of pride that if given the opportunity, I would embrace the resident assistant (RA) position is truly a special one. In Rue, customers are not always greeted when walking in. This can be expected, but it isn’t a great quality in a store. Most of the time customer service reps are too busy checking customers out to personally attend to each customer. In other stores, specifically high-end stores, workers are assigned to each customer and are there to help the customer find whatever they are looking for. This can be great for some, especially when the price of the product is very high, but some people prefer to look around on their own and ask for help when needed.…

Bob Nardelli joined the Home Depot team in 2000, when it was already successful. However, he also joined during a time when the company had grown so rapidly so quickly that changes needed to be made. While he created his own change model, had he known about Kotter and Cohen’s 8-step change model, he may have met fewer challenges (Kotter & Cohen, 2002). When Nardelli first arrived at Home Depot, he was deemed an outsider of a close-knit organization. Nonetheless, the board had made the decision that he was the best person for the task at hand.…
