To do this I will have to always stay on task, turn work in when it is due, and taking care of things before it’s too late.…

Learning to write When I attended elementary school, part of the curriculum was penmanship. There was a certain segment of instruction dedicated to penmanship rather than writing. We were given large sheets of oat colored paper with three parallel lines widely spaced. The alphabets were used to print and write in cursive using the midpoint, and upper lines for capital letters. The handwriting grades were based on neatness and readability.…

Writing has changed my perspective on various aspects of my life. Some of the essays that I have written in the past have opened doors to new ideas. These essays have helped me make connections I feel I never would have made without writing. I believe this is because I enter my deepest level of concentration when I write. This heightened level of concentration I reach when writing has allowed me to reflect on important areas in my life such as self-awareness and motivation.…

The Final Test I passed the final test, but they didn’t. It all started with my class, called the “9ers”. We were the first class to ever have their whole grade graduate on the same day. We were the smartest of them all, is what the counselor told us. All we had to do was pass the final test to figure out who were leaving to go to the new community.…

Society has set a standard for high school graduates to complete their education through attendance of a university. Personally I aimed to fulfill that standard by attending the second largest university in the state. When applying to the University of Central Florida, applicants were given the opportunity to prove to the reader that they are a respectable, independent, and well-rounded student in around 500 words or less. Which, because there is so much to talk about yet we are restricted by the limited word count, can be a strain for some students. I was determined to make the most out of my opportunity and deliver the best essay to the University.…

I am confident in my preparation for this class because I know how to use the library to research information. In the second grade my class was assigned an animal to research for a research paper. Everyday during the time set aside for our papers, we would travel to the library and scour the shelves for different books about our animal, reading them thoroughly and taking notes on what we picked out as important. This experience stuck out to me as an important moment in my writing experience because it was the first time I was asked to “use library research resources to find relevant and credible sources for writing” (Outcomes 101). I am confident this research paper has taught me how to take this class by introducing me to the research skills…

From the process of writing a critical analysis for each work of literature in the American Family Album to discussing the class’s different interpretations of those stories in depth, I was able to take my original thoughts and make them more versatile. This process helped me to create a basis for all of the essays we had to write in our English class. The three CA’s that I believe are my best works are “Raymond’s Run”, “Grace”, and “Nineteen Fifty-Five.” Not only do I enjoy these CA’s because I used two of them in my essays, but I feel as though I was able to relate to some of the key factors I wrote about regarding the main characters.…

Before starting college I had never written more than a three page paper. I was inexperienced when it came to writing lengthy, but still interesting papers. I still find myself to be questioning, appropriately, the content of my papers, my time management skills, and also the effectiveness of which I portray my thoughts, concepts and ideas. I have found this class to be challenging in both beneficial, and strictly frustrating ways. This class although time consuming, and difficult, has helped me grow as a writer, and given me tools such as critical thinking, review, and reflection that I will continue to use for the entirety of my college career.…

Individual Retrospection: I feel that the labs in general went well, specifically the time that we had to brainstorm the different ideas that we had to come up with game idea we needed for the lab. The other part of the lab that went well was the the the information that was given was well understood and the lab leader was able to explain everything well and answer any questions that a raised. The biggest things that I think could have gone better or that I would change are the time limits that we had for each section of the lab. My team always felt behind because of the time limit placed on each part even though we worked on each section.…

Introduction Have you ever wondered what your greatest strengths were and how you could use those to help you advance in your career? Many people probably think they have certain personality strengths until they take an assessment to see what they actually are. I recently took a personality assessment utilizing the DISC method of scoring to see what my more dominant personality traits were. The results came back a little different than what I thought of myself at first but the more I pondered on it, the more it made sense. My three most dominant personality traits are Conscientious, Dominant and Steadiness.…
