Here Zack explained that the student were the workers who actually repaired, painted and tuned up vehicles brought in by actual members of the community. This benefits the students as they actually get to do actually things to actual cars, increasing their experience.
While on the tour Zack bumped into a student named Tyone who he joked around with saying “why is it every time I am in the hallway, your in the hallway?” Tyone laughed and Zack encouraged him to simply go back to class or get a pass and come to the zone; Tyone said he would do so. After our tour, we returned back to The Zone and shortly after Tyone walked in with a pass as previously discussed. Zack had Tyone introduce himself to some of the tutors around the room. While talking with him I learned that Tyone is in fact a very good basketball player who is receiving a lot of interest from Penn State Basketball along with other schools. I expected the students to be somewhat disrespectful and out of control due to their circumstances with living in Springfield. However they were the exact opposite, proving to me that a lot of times kids living in unfavorable conditions often are not given enough credit and sadly I am guilty of that. I commend each and every one of them for going to school, learning their trades, and staying focused while doing so. I found myself to be most similar to Tyone. Though I was not the type of student that was always seen in the hallway, I did to an extent, push aside the importance of doing well in high school for sometime. Luckily I did not neglect my schooling long enough to the point where it was too late, I refocused and “put my head in the books” enough to remarkable raise my GPA.
