Beep…Beep…Beep… was the sound of the alarm on my phone as I frantically searched for it with my sleepy eyes trying to free myself of the torment of the sound. It was 5:30 am, It was at that time again; time to take my early morning run. I got up, ran to the bathroom, washed my face, dressed and headed for the door. I stood in front the door for a mere two minutes as I collated my “running playlist on my iPod then went on my morning journey. It was a habit I formed and it helped to clear my mind before a hectic day of work. Before I knew it, I ran my route and came back home. I was drenched in sweat and proceeded to the second part of my early morning workout. I did my small workout circuit and headed to the bath and then had breakfast. It felt like any other normal day and I felt ready to tackle any task that would be given to me today. After organising myself, I was then quite ready and went outside my door patiently awaiting my co-worker for a ride. For some reason that day I was jolly: I thought to myself that I probably was a bit too jolly and I cautioned myself on that notion. It is often said “After joy is sorrow” and I needed to be on the lookout for anything that might become sorrowful to me.

Got into work and set to my tasks and one of the tasks which I dreaded doing was cleaning the cadavers

It was a shock to me, but I didn’t let that situation overwhelm me. I ran to call the maintenance man to report the problem. I was a bit annoyed about what happened to me, it was my bad luck that was following me that day. After lunch the time for the departmental “cook” came quickly. It was almost as if “Father Time” sped it up for the cook to happen quickly. Everyone was outside and contributing to getting the pot ready in one way or the other.
