My Experience At Mcgann-Mercy High School

Decent Essays
My experience at McGann- Mercy High School was great. I made incredible friends, and became a stronger student and person. All of the teachers put in their full effort to bring me the best education possible. I always felt surrounded by the positive mercy spirit and sense of community. The AP Language and Composition course made me a better writer. I am now able to write a well developed, coherent essay because of this course. I am also able to hone in on details while reading, and further analyze texts. I do not think that this class has to be improved in any way. I feel that it always pushed me to work hard. I believe that it has prepared me very well for the AP exam. My favorite assignment this year was the photo essay. I liked how it was

My time at Barnegat High School has helped me to become who I am today and will most defiantly impact what I will do in the future. The teachers and my peers have all been an influence on my life and during the four years that I spent at the school, I have done some things for the school and the community as a way to thank them for giving me the opportunities that they have. It was they who pushed me to keep trying and striding to succeed and without them, I would not have accomplished what I have today. One of the things that I am most proud of doing is helping to bring new clubs and activities to Barnegat High School. This year, with the help of other students and advisors, a new club made it into the ranks of the diverse sea of clubs and groups that already exist.…

“You must get an education. You must go to school, and you must learn to protect yourself. And you must learn to protect yourself with the pen, and not the gun”(Josephine Baker). Growing up in Southwest Philadelphia and Upper Darby, I have seen a lot of my peers turn their backs on education due to the hardships of their urban school environment. Due to the poor education system and their circumstances, they decided to head towards street life such as selling drugs and gun violence.…

Even though everyone who goes to Shakopee High School knows about this situation, they do not know how much it has significantly affected my life. My life changed last year in so many ways. In some ways this has given me more opportunities, but in most cases this event has negatively changed everything around me. Worst of all it has made me lose many friends, given me a bad reputation, and has made everyone think that I am someone that I am not. People I had never met did not like me, discriminated against me in some situations; but on the other hand, it has showed me who my real friends are because they continued to persevere by my side and stuck with me through all of the tough times.…

The semester before my freshman year I applied to an early college high school; I knew that I was going to have more work than if I had went to the traditional high school, but I knew I could do it. At first I was doing well, but as time went on the work became more challenging and frequent eventually my grades fell and took my pride with it. I wanted to transfer to the traditional high school in my neighborhood, but changed my mind after a talk with one of my professors. She helped me to recognize that if I quit not only would I be throwing away the work that I did do, but I’d also be preventing myself from seeing what work I could do. I took that seed of information and turned it into a tree of motivation.…

Since moving to Bettendorf for my High School years I have learned more than I could imagine and for that, I will be grateful for forever. I have learned more about myself, more in school, and most importantly I have learned from my mistakes including how to fix them to prevent myself from ever making them again. Everyone makes mistakes and may possibly get in trouble for these. I will never forget Bettendorf High School nor February 28th, 2018. February 28th was a day that has changed how I think about my best friends, and also made think about everyone a lot more than I did before.…

For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of enjoying the college atmosphere. While attending Ooltewah High School, I realized that my education in both school, and the Word of God, will help me further pursue my dreams. Where others see the work and stressful nights, and homework as a chore, I only see excitement. Even as a child, I constantly sought it out, first looking up different schools, then seeking different majors, then later in person appearing in every campus open house I could find. College in all its forms fascinated me, but schools that brought me closer to the Lord were in a category all to themselves.…

These are the things that made my high school experience worthwhile, the bad reports made me pushed further and inspire me to work harder. The number of subjects showed me how to get things done in an organized manner, and the school rules molded me in such. High school has its ups and downs and I can say it is a very important time in our lives that seems to mold us into the persons that we wish to be in the near future. I can gladly say I enjoyed the five years that I spent at William Knibb, it was a wonderful experience and I had some excellent teachers who would stop at nothing until we learn, for that I am grateful.…

Learning different modes of writing and putting them into practice will allow me to be able to approach different subjects with an appropriate style. Although I had learned to use only academically credible sources before, I had become too lax and this class put me back on the right track of being aware. I have only done papers in APA format for the past two years, so this class was a nice refresher on MLA format. I think it’s important to be fluent in both; while in college you never know if different teachers will require a different format than others. Beyond improving my writing ability, this class achieved its critical thinking development goal as well.…
