Further, teaching parents about the methods of proper backpack usage would provide parents with the necessary knowledge needed to monitor, pack, and adjust their child’s backpack properly. Also, handing out the information about backpack safety before parents take their students shopping for school supplies may influence the parents’ decision when purchasing a backpack for their child. When the child wants the trendy backpack that lacks safety features, parents would know that the backpack is unsafe and not buy it for their child. If the child gets upset about not being able to pick out his or her own backpack, the parents could tell him or her that they are not buying that backpack because they care about his or her
