Reflective Essay: Guajome As A Critical Thinker

It is said that if a friendship lasts longer than seven years, it will last a life time. This statement speaks volumes to me as a student at Guajome who has been attending since sixth grade. Throughout my time at Guajome, I have made friends who I can call family. These are people who I have grown with for seven years. With Guajome being a smaller school, I have matured with the students through friendships and class room peers, as well as connecting with my teachers. This allowed a better education environment for me by getting the help I needed and being surrounded by those who are motivated to learn. These traits have helped and inspired me to become a critical thinker. The ability to think critically is an essential skill to have throughout life. By being a critical thinker, it has improved my academic performance. These skills allowed me as a student to develop a deeper understanding by exploring broader perspectives of an issue. When I first came to Guajome, I had a learning disability of an IEP, and was put into special education help. I was challenged throughout my educational progress. I learned how to solve and think about problems in different ways to find a solution. I no longer have an IEP, and I am able to do my school work on my own from the skills that I learned. Being a critical thinker has prepared me for real life situations. Having the qualities of a critical thinker, I am able to dig deeper into a problem and see different perspectives of a situation, as well as seeing both the positives and negatives, asking questions, and communicating for a better, knowledgeable
