The patience needed to deal with students is not realized until having to deal with your own students. When I was growing up I loved my teachers and thought I wanted to teach math. I was always good at tutoring other students when I was in high school and found it very easy to help kids grasp concepts. But after teaching this summer I realized that teaching to kids that want to learn against teaching kids who are there for other reasons can make teaching very difficult. So I realized that teaching really wasn’t for me and helped me realize that my career path has turned more into an actuary which was my other option I was thinking about for the past couple years. This summer I have starter studying all the material needed to pass the first actuary exam. Most companies will not hire an actuarial intern unless you have already passed one exam. The material for the exam in math I already know but the difference is trying to apply it to the business world. The pass rate for the first exam on one try is just under fifty percent but if you look at the pass rate after two tries it gets higher than fifty percent. So studying and passing it in the first try is important step to also be able to apply for the actuary internship in the
