Personal Narrative: My Personal Experiences Of An Adolescent

To answer the first question, “When did you feel you were truly an adolescent?”, I would say there are a couple of events that occured when I felt like I became one. One event that I had occur where I felt like I had become an adolescent was when I applied for my first job at the grocery store in my town. I was 16 when I went in for the interview and I was so nervous but knew that this was good for me to get a job at this age. I got the job and am still working there till this day as a cashier/ bagger. This job made at the time made me feel more independent and I felt very proud about that. Another event that has occured where I felt like I had become an adolescent was when I went for my license. Once I had done all the practice driving classes, I went to go and take my license test and I was so ready. Once I had gotten it I felt more grown up because I was able to drive to places all by myself instead of bothering my parents and asking them for rides everywhere. Now as a person I am way more mature and independent. I have seen myself becoming more independent and mature by learning how to live on my own at school away from home, learning how to trust people and being socially aware of different situations, and learning how to prepare myself for the real world after I graduate college. When I was younger I felt as though I was helpless and not as independent as I am today. I felt like when I was younger I needed extra guidance and support from family and friends when it came to making decisions. Where as now I have learned to be independent and trust myself with making life decisions that are important for my life. When I was younger I felt as though I relieved on my parents a little too much for them to do stuff for me. But now I do stuff on my own and make my own decisions with
