Bill Clinton was just sworn in as the president and it was an extremely important read for me. I read my poem, "On the Pulse of Morning." In this poem I explain how everyone can come together, regardless of who they are and their race, it goes through the history of America (Brian). That was something extremely memorable in my life, along with all my writing pieces, I wrote 6 autobiographies and as far as "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" it is taught in many schools in several different areas. It has been controversial but it is all truth and needs to be shared. My writing style in my fiction pieces consist of dialogue and plot it is helpful because it shows true meaning but at the same time leaves mystery and truth throughout my writing (official Maya Angelou Website). My life helped me write my novels and poems. I knew Nelson Mandela, I joined with Malcolm X, I marched with Gloria Steinem, and I also personally figured out marriage equality, I was well educated on all these examples only because of what I went through in my life! One of my largest accomplishments would have to be in 2010, when I received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from president Obama, this was the highest civilian award one could receive (Nichols

The montage theory, jump cuts and innovations in camera shots.…

“Who am I?” This is a question that everyone my age has likely asked themselves. The first thing that needs to be figured out is, what defines a person? Does family history decide who you are going to be? I believe it is the things you pick up from the people you are around, the things you go through, and the things you learn in your life that decide who you will become.…

Writing has changed my perspective on various aspects of my life. Some of the essays that I have written in the past have opened doors to new ideas. These essays have helped me make connections I feel I never would have made without writing. I believe this is because I enter my deepest level of concentration when I write. This heightened level of concentration I reach when writing has allowed me to reflect on important areas in my life such as self-awareness and motivation.…

It Makes Sense Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Night-time has one reoccurring theme that he has highlighted throughout the novel, Logic. He illustrates this by his sentence structure and by showing the way Christopher, the protagonist, processes everything by using and needing concrete facts or patterns and various structures to justify his different conclusions he arrives at throughout the novel, also on how each chapter is labeled with prime numbers. Haddon does not do anything without a purpose in this novel.…

In this essay, I’d like to talk about my experiences of being a half Greek and half Puerto Rican girl growing up in a hispanic neighborhood. Sure, I can discuss being a woman or how greatly my race and Greek culture have influenced my life, but I chose to write about the racial discrimination and prejudices I experienced in this specific area of my life because experiences like mine do not get recognized and are hardly ever talked about. They should. I chose this topic because I never get to voice what my experiences were like. The times I had voiced them, they were met with eye rolls from people who thought I was lying and labeled my experiences as fiction.…

Having never taken the DISC assessment before, I was unsure about what to expect. I thought it was fairly accurate in many ways, but I felt that it very much tapped into what I consider my “work” self and did not cover much of who I am outside of that. I scored a high average score on the D spectrum. This seemed accurate, as I am relatively competitive overall, I like looking at the big-picture, I don’t mind taking risks, I can be critical of those that don’t measure up to my standards and I am very interested in new and innovative things.…
