When I entered the domains of senior high school I questioned the idea of college. Was it necessary? Would it aid in my aspirations and dreams? After thorough research and heated debates, my question was answered. College does matter! During my tertiary years at Florida Memorial University I strongly believe that there will be a sturdy foundation set for a prosperous future, a broaden understanding and appreciation for diversity and an enhancement in my intellectual skills.

I expect college to evolve my premature mental state. During college, I want to grow in knowledge and to use it to make rational decisions. This obtained knowledge will teach me the correct steps to take and how to go about taking them. For example, in senior high I was a member of the dance team and now that I am in college I want to continue with this extracurricular activity. However, knowledge and wise council allowed me to analyze the situation and brought me to understand that college is not high school. The workload is different and my tuition is sponsored and not paid for by my parents. Therefore, starting dance during my first semester will not be the best solution. This decision came about by thinking critically. Although this situation was mediocre, there will be others and more complex ones that I will have to face and without the proper guidance, I will face difficulty choosing the right answer. Additionally, I except college to stimulate my mental activity and make me open to new ideas because curiosity and learning should never stop. Consequently, I hope that college will help me develop intellectual skills that I can use in the real world. These skills will follow me throughout the rest of my life and will act as principles to my
