My Ethos Essay Examples

When I first started creating my essay, I didn't really focused on creating my ethos within the paper. I think with, Chicago, being such a broad topic and then also with me trying to ask myself a question, I was having a hard time trying to bring out an ethos within this essay. I do believe that when working on my multimodal essay I was able to finally create my own ethos. I was writing about how my decision of leaving my small northwest suburb is one of the hardest choices I ever made, but still one of the best. I think with my first essay I was so confused and lost on where to actually take my paper itself that I feel like it was just there. That there wasn’t much purpose to it. I believe that when I was adding more to it, like the picture, the descriptions about my hometown, and more of an explanation on why I decided to move, I felt that it was finally going somewhere. I thought that it connected to my essay because it in my eyes represented me having one foot in the south loop and one foot in my small town. That is why when I put the image in my essay I inserted near the paragraph that talked about my family. After getting some feedback on my multimodal essay, I decided to add a few more pictures as well. To give my essay even more ways to come to life. At the beginning of the story I put a picture of the street outside of my building to represent “the lights that never go to sleep.” I also added a picture of the house that I grew up in most of my life when I was talking about where I came from and the sights that you would see in a small town. And then at the end of the essay when I was talking about how much I love living in this big city and I love all these sights that were strange at first but than became normal I put in a picture of the Chicago skyline from the Alder
