I thought that it connected to my essay because it in my eyes represented me having one foot in the south loop and one foot in my small town. That is why when I put the image in my essay I inserted near the paragraph that talked about my family. After getting some feedback on my multimodal essay, I decided to add a few more pictures as well. To give my essay even more ways to come to life. At the beginning of the story I put a picture of the street outside of my building to represent “the lights that never go to sleep.” I also added a picture of the house that I grew up in most of my life when I was talking about where I came from and the sights that you would see in a small town. And then at the end of the essay when I was talking about how much I love living in this big city and I love all these sights that were strange at first but than became normal I put in a picture of the Chicago skyline from the Alder
