Typically whenever a student is given an essay assignment they go through a step by step process. This process allows the student to set a layout on how he or she does her essay. Sadly, that is somewhat not the way I do things. You see I was born with the curse of procrastination. I do go through all the steps to write an essay such as, outlining, drafting, and revisions. Unfortunately towards the end I always end up doing an assignment last minute.
Usually the first action done for me is creating an outline. I believe outlines are essential to the way of writing because they narrow down all the ideas in your head. Also it can act as layout for your essay to follow. Without an outline I feel it would create an unnecessary amount of time wasted

Before my senior year of highschool I never even bothered to do this process. Once I did, I was introduced to a wide variety of different views on the subject that I never even thought of. With these views I was able to enhance the level of knowledge I could incorporate into my essays. Doing this process helps me create my rough drafts.
Rough drafts are similar to the samples you receive at Coldstone. Although small in size, it gives you a taste of what's to come. They are a big step in the writing process. Usually when I am creating rough drafts I don’t just make one, I make several. Creating drafts give you an opportunity to explore your thoughts and ideas without worrying about how it sounds.Without a rough draft what are you going to work with ? Once done with rough drafts I ask a peer to review my paper.
Revisions are an important factor in my writing process. As humans, we tend to believe that anything we create is perfect with no flaws. That saying could be applied to writing as well. Personally when writing I don't see any flaws in my paper. Due to this I have a peer or two peer edit my papers to look for errors I wouldn't see. The more mistakes they find the better. Making your final draft as error free as possible is the best for your grade and

There are different types of a paper that could be written. However, revising and editing of any serious papers, such as scientific research report or an essay is not only highly recommended, but required. I remember the first time I wrote an essay that was being graded at the college level. This was in my junior year when I took AP Language and Composition, our first essay was a rhetorical analysis essay from a very old excerpt that used old english and was very hard to read. When I first started reading the passage I started to get nervous because I didn't understand what the text was saying but then I started to annotate and the passage began to make sense. I found many rhetorical strategies that the author used and I then began to outline the essay in my head.…

Next, I consult all the materials given, or collected by me, to begin to form an idea about what I want my paper to state. Then I start my outline. Surviving English Comp 1 Writing Class Writing is one thing I hate the most. It was hard to write an essay for the first time because I did not have the knowledge or concept of this writing style. Before this class, I thought I knew what writing was all about by expressing my thoughts, ideas and feeling. I know now that I had the wrong concept on how to write. I can express my thoughts, ideas and feeling, but if I put them in the wrong contents it does not lead the reader to the point of the essay.…

I find this part hard because there is times where I don’t know what I need to change to make the writing better. Usually after the first draft I get stuck and don’t know how what I have to change or add. Something that I do like is to get feedback from other people. Some people would argue that getting feedback from others is not too good but most of the time it works for me. The reason why I like others to read my writing is because it helps me catch some errors in my writing.…

If I was writing a paper that required a specific number of paragraphs or pages I would typically plan my paper using the four square method. If I was writing an important paper I would write a rough draft, then as I was typing it I would revise it and fix any mistakes I found. One thing that remained consistent in my writing process, no matter the type of paper, is after I wrote the paper I would try to find more grade level appropriate words instead of the simple words I originally used. While writing essays for this class I came to find it is better to combine my writing processes to write the best possible essay I could. I found the best steps for me to take in writing my paper are to write my ideas down in some form.…

I have always considered my relationship with writing to be very insignificant. Although I enjoy spending time verbally expressing my thoughts and feelings to others, it becomes difficult when these thoughts and feelings are expressed through writing. Throughout my adolescent years, I would often receive feedback for my writing given by the teacher in the form of a grade. Being unable to effectively organize my thoughts and ideas into words and sentences, I would feel reluctant to continue writing confidently whenever I received an undesirable grade.…

The writing process is different and unique to all individuals; many people follow the ideal steps of prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing as opposed to others taking shortcuts, skipping steps, and going straight to editing. The writing process is the course one takes to get from prewriting to the publication of their essay; since everyone is a different, their writing process will also be different. For me, I believe that following the ideal writing process steps are a tremendous help to organizing my essay and spacing out the work throughout the time the assignment is assigned. To begin writing an essay I must first prewrite; to prewrite is to brainstorm ideas from the prompt by outlining, diagramming, clusterings, or…
