As my Full Sail journey begins I have enjoyed my experience so far. As a matter of fact, I was curious of what my English composition class will offer me. In other words, I wanted to find out my improvements, my weaknesses and the quality of my writing skills. Throughout the course, I was able to analyze and revise assignments. Also, conduct research on my role model and his perseverance to serve that as a motivation towards my future classes and career.
From an English composition course I was expecting a lot of essays and improving your weak areas in writing. This class exceeded my expectations due to the fact I was not expecting such an adaptive course. In other words, I did not expect to use a program that will notice my weaknesses to improve them such as the Learn Achieve program. I was expecting more of an instructor to student type of feedback, although, I’m not stating this is a bad thing, but it was something new to me. In all honesty, this class exceeded my expectations work length wise, and its adaptive student program. At the beginning of the course, I wasn’t very confident with my writing skills. I believe that I could’ve done a lot better on that assignment if I had a clear understanding of the assignment from the beginning. However, now that I fully understand the assignment I would ace

Before beginning this course, I knew that I lacked confidence within my writing. People say that you are your own worst critique, and I fully agree with that statement. My writing was not terrible in some aspects, but I knew that it needed to be improved upon. I lacked the experience needed because writing was not something that I did on a daily basis. When I first started English 1302, the little confidence that I had significantly plummeted since my writing seemed childish compared to other students.…

Throughout this portfolio I will demonstrate to my instructor and peers my development throughout our course, including the challenges and successes. I hope my portfolio will serve as a helpful source for me to refer back to in future classes, and aid as a guide for future students and their journey through college. In the beginning of first semester, in English Composition 121, I had preconceived ideas as to what the expectations would be for this class based on my experience eleven years ago. I had pre-determined how I would approach this class and what I was going to do, so never once did I expect to learn something useful.…

Upon my entry into English 1010-02, my first college writing class, I expected to breeze through the course with an easy-A and minimal effort after my successful completion of AP English 11 this past year. I began the year with the utmost confidence in my writing abilities, and believed that my skills were above par. It wasn’t until I received my score on the essay evaluation for my First-Week Essay- a measly five out of twenty- that I realized that this was not the case. At first, I was astonished that my seemingly exceptional writing skills had not earned me the A that I believed I deserved. However, as time went on I came to the realization that I had not put in nearly enough time or effort into the paper to receive more than a C at most.…

Throughout this course, writing took more than just writing about what you read. Here I learned to process all the information that needs to be processed and come up with some way to get it out on paper. With writing I have learned that vocabulary and grammar are two very affective sides to it. With grammar I have learned when to end a sentence. Working on grammar for my writing also allowed me to learn, when the time came for me to use punctuation and extend the sentence.…
