Despite what you might be thinking this is also easier said than done, remember not all students are or learn the same. Because different students learn in different ways a good educator must be able to appeal to all of them equally meaning they have to have proper instructional techniques to utilize. The instructional techniques that I intend on utilizing are lecturing, discussion facilitating, and allowing my students to learn on their own all of which are supported by my educational philosophy. I concluded that these three main techniques would benefit my students through personal experience and advice from current educators. Going through school myself, I always learned best through a lecture based class than I did with a work on your own type class, but I realize this is not true for everyone. For the most part when we are in the classroom working I intend on using presentations and lectures to teach the material. I will also integrate videos and other types of multimedia to appeal to those students who learn best with visual aids. After I teach a lesson I plan on having my class discuss the new ideas as a whole allowing my students to once again speak their mind. When we are in the shop however this will not be the case, this is where those people who learn with their hands will feel most at home. By allowing my students to do their own thing will some guidance from me I will not only allow my students to grow more independent, but also learn useful skills such as wood working and amateur metal working skills. These are all ways that I believe allow students to learn effectively, but I am open to changes if I feel it will benefit my students. My main objective is to teach my students in a way that appeals to them best and allows them to learn the most they can, if this mean doing something outside of my comfort zone then so be it.
