Social Studies Class Analysis

As a high school senior, this is the first Economics class I’ve ever taken. I didn’t know what to expect at all. Talking to most of my classmates didn’t exactly help either. I’ve heard a lot of different opinion about the class, but I knew I had to experience it myself before making a judgment. Some people have told me it was a fun and interesting class while others have told me it’s the most boring class they’ve ever taken. I thought I would be able to compare this class to one of the Social Studies classes I’ve taken in high school, but I was definitely wrong. There is no class I have taken that is quite like Macroeconomics. While others may have found the online aspect of this class challenging, I found it very easy since I took online PSEO …show more content…
I’ve learned that I need physical interaction in a class like this. Social Studies classes have never been my strong suit. Taking this online course has taught me that I need a teacher in a Social Studies type course in order to really learn and absorb all of the course material. I learned a lot on the chat days because I was having a face to face interaction even though it was only through a computer screen. I have also learned that I am a procrastinator after taking a course like this. The only downside to having an online course that gives you a lot more freedom when turning things in is that it allows you to save everything till the last second. I found myself cramming and reading everything the day of or the day before the assignment was due. I now know that in order to be successful and prevent myself from being under so much pressure and stress I need to plan ahead …show more content…
I have started the process of applying to colleges and looking at a career choice. I learned that I need to really look into what type of jobs the economy will need after I graduate so I won 't be left with only a degree and no job. This contributed to my personal development by opening my eyes to how I need to manage my time better. I have to plan things out if I want to be stress free and this class has taught me that. I will be putting in more effort into improving my problem with procrastinating. Overall, taking Economics for the first time has really opened up my eyes to new things. I now feel like I know a lot more on the basics of the economy. Looking back to before I took the class, I can say I was very ignorant to a lot going on in the economy. While I still don’t know much about it, I have a basic understanding now. I definitely hope to take an Economics class in my future to learn even more about the

In this essay I will focus on the incentives that stimulate me to pursue further studies in economics. I will also reflect on the motives for my choice in applying to Clemson University. Although not always effortless or rigidly defined, I believe my past experiences in education and research interests have prepared me to be an outstanding candidate for Clemson’s economic PhD program. As a young child, I was diagnosed with both dyslexia and ADHD.…

The class I’m going to prepare for is AP Human Geography. To prepare I’m going to use Quizlet; this will help me get my vocabulary down so I can ace the vocab quizzes. I feel that if I can do better on those quizzes, then my overall grades should go up by at least 10 points. The next thing I need to learn how to do is how to take notes that will help me on chapter tests. If I can nail both of those issues then I should be at a high A.…

Throughout this semester I feel I have learned a lot about history. I feel i've learned more in this class than I did in my high school history classes. Some things I really enjoyed about this class would be the format of this class I liked your lectures and I found taking notes to be very helpful especially when it was time to take a test. I enjoy how you structured your lectures according to when the events took place I think going in order according to time makes it easier to remember. I think when you write the topics and outline of your lecture on the board and then talk about it is helpful because it makes it easy to follow along with what you're talking about.…

This specific history class has advanced my ability to learn and think differently compared to my cognitive and learning kills prior to the course at Richland College through the numerous ways the professor teaches the class. As this semester was my first college experience, I wasn’t sure what to expect as far as how to study and for how long, how I should take notes during class, how long I should study for tests, and even how I should study for tests. Yet I found that the course wasn’t difficult at all because the professor set up the class so that students knew how to take notes and how to study and how to prepare themselves for tests. In the class, the professor taught using Microsoft PowerPoint, but he expanded the lessons beyond the program.…

The first professor I talked to was John Neri my ECON305 professor. I want to start off by saying this class alone has made me hate economics with such a passion. However, back to the interview, my first question was “why did you choose economics over any other business major?”. Neri went on to explain his childhood and how his interests for economics became a hobby. He loved the theories and math of each and every corner of economics.…

In that class I got introduced to the basics of law. I came out of that class with an A and I believe that that was not due to the fact that I had to study hard and force myself to work at it, it was because I was truly interested in the class and wanted to read and learn more about business law. I have learned that being a lawyer is not about driving fancy cars or living in a big house. It’s about working…
