I first began playing softball at only five years old. I began playing locally but soon enough moved onto a higher level of play. By the age of thirteen I was playing for one of the biggest organizations in the country and playing with girls almost two years older than me, which also meant playing with girls much much bigger than me. Although sports come very easy and naturally to me, not everyone cares about that. My summer is surrounded by softball, it’s mainly all I do. I have played in front of many division one college softball coaches and the first thing they notice is my size, not how far I hit the ball or how fast I run or how I can field a ground ball. They all see that I am a 5’2 third baseman. Because of my height I am at a “disadvantage”, I have to work hard for what I have. I do not have as much power hitting the ball as many of the girls I play with do. I also am not blessed with long arms and legs to give me more arm strength and make my throws harder. In order for me to be able to live out my dream of playing college softball I have to prove that I am more than just a 5’2 third basemen, I have to find a way to stand out. Since most colleges recruit players that are about 5’4 and taller I had to figure out a way to play as if I am 6’0
