We arrived for our five day holiday with high hopes and both my sister and I could not wait for the days of roller coaster rides, seeing our favourite cartoon characters and, most of all, going to Movie World. Two days into our dream holiday and my family jumped into a taxi. My family drove through the hills, went past many trees and tried to imagine Bugs Bunny from the white clouds in the sky. After we passed through the waves of trees, we saw the beautiful beaches of Gold Coast. The sun reflected against the water and the waves were a great contrast to the sand. Adelaide was nothing compared to this.

He started talking to me about how I would fall off all of the rides that I went on and, in particular, that I wouldn’t put my seatbelt on. It only took two minutes of my dad continuously doing this before all the dream roller coaster rides became my worst nightmare. Unfortunately for my dad, my mum’s pinches were more powerful than a few words to a nine year old. My whole family looked around, amazed by how huge the park was. We looked at our map, planning our day and looking at the possible rides we would go on. We decided to go in a circle and first started at the ride closest to us, a 60 metre tall tower, the …show more content…

This was a dream holiday for my Family, and I cannot wait to come back to Gold Coast and ride the Batwing

In Roxane Gay’s article “Why the Beach Is a Bummer” she explains her outlook on the beach and why it’s a place of discomfort rather than fun. “This is an ideal beach of hot sun, warm sand, crystal-clear water that leaves your skin salted. But it is all too often a mirage”(Gay) the beach isn’t always a place for everyone, and the expectations of the beach often leave people let down or disappointed. As much as I do love the beach and enjoy laying in the sun I agree with Gay’s perspective of the beach to an extent.…

A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

Two years ago, my boyfriend and I brought his two daughters to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ for the first time. We all loved roller coasters, except for the youngest daughter because she had never been on a roller coaster before. I knew that if she did not go on a ride that my boyfriend would have to stay behind her. When we were walking into the park, I continued to tell her that I know she will go on all the roller coasters. She would then respond to me each time with “No I won’t”.…

When we got there, we decided to go in the single riders line, since the single riders line is usually faster than the regular line. And so we waited and after what seemed like a million years (actually milliseconds), we finally got to get on the ride. “Finally, we get to get on the ride,” I said. And it started out pretty slow,…

When I was about nine years old, my family was debating about going to Cedar Point the upcoming weekend. I hadn't rode many roller coasters in my life at that time because I was only nine. Of course, trying to be manly, I totally agreed with their decision. My parents told me how big the roller coasters are, and how the roller coasters are some of the biggest in the world. I acted like I wasn't scared, and was talking about how I didn't care about the size of the roller coasters.…

It was the largest, most thrilling roller coaster yet to be found. I didn't believe it but knowing my best friend Prisa she was not gonna let me miss out on as she would always say, “once in a lifetime opportunities”. It was a hot, sunny day as the sun lit up the whole park. The blunt air had no wind or even a soft gentle breeze. It was just plain old humid and to add on to that, we were crowded with a solid 200 people in the line,…

There was no time for a break, we were off to the next one. By “one”, I mean roller coaster, but this wasn’t just any other roller coaster, this was the Dragster. The record breaking, rapid and towering Dragster which was located at the amusement park Cedar Point, in Ohio. I watched my friends walk briskly in front of me anticipating the next thrill.
