I later started volunteering with the Nekoosa Lions group who were all in their middle fifties and older. My mother was the youngest member of the Lions so I got to hear about all the events they were doing first-hand. I wanted to help them out but I never could since the people who ran some of the events had to be over eighteen or twenty-one. I called up a few of my friends and asked them if they wanted to start doing volunteering as well. I started a group called Nekoosa Lion Misses, which included me and five other close girl friends. They shared really useful information and encouraged me to work hard and pursue my dream of being like them as an accomplished social worker. I also heard from this select group of students that you do not need to live on campus any of the years you attend the school. I was extremely pleased to hear this since I planned to get my own apartment and be able to have my dog with me closer to the school. I am still planning on meeting many new friends that could possibly stay in my life forever. I plan on working at the local Shopko since I already work at the one in my hometown.
