As a little girl I always knew I wanted to own my own business. I would dress up in my mother’s dress suits and carry around her brief case. My parents would ask me, what do you want to be when you grow up? I would respond, a boss! As I got older I realized the only way I would be happy in my career is if I worked for myself. It wasn’t because I am incapable of working for someone else, but because I know that if I run my own business it will be done the right way. Working for others gives us experience on how others think. It so shows us other ways things can be accomplished other than the way you think. Being a perfectionist has its flaws and school has taught me what those flaws are and how to fix them. My favorite quote by a Socrates states “True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.” A successful business manager lives by this quote. I feel like a lot of the managers I have worked for would act and think against this quote. I do not want to be this type of manager. I want others to feel like they can work for someone that they can learn from …show more content…
If I do not receive this scholarship it will cause a trickle down affect. I will not be able to pay for college; therefore I will have to find another employer in order to save money for my degree. I refuse to be in debt after college. My ideal plan is to find a hospitality or sales management position so I can start to save for investments and earn experience in the business I would like to open. I am a entrepreneur before a manager. I plan to save from the earned salary and invest in property. Once I have enough investment in property, I will be able to apply for a large business loan due to the collateral in ownership.
