Since the career fair is next week I just wanted to reach out to you with a colleague of mine resume. We work together on a lot of coursework so I can vouch for him. He graduates in December with me and interned during the summer with Optum doing some software engineer work. Robert has a 3.30GPA with a major in Electronics Technology. Attached is his resume and I am sure he will stop by Cisco’s booth next Wednesday.

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

Most little girls dream of being a ballerina when they grow up, I was the little girl who dreamed of medical school. Anyone who was brave enough to ask got my vehement no when asked if I thought that the college, subsequent medical school, and training would be too much school or that I would get bored. I decided very early that to be a doctor was one of the most exciting things that a person could chose to be and my fantastic pediatrician was the initial spark for this love of medicine. The care that I could see him exhibit in his daily operations as well as the ease at which he interacted with patients and parents alike inspired me. His knowledge was fascinating and I longed to have that level of understanding of the human body.…

It’s only been a few month since the United States elected our new President John Anderson, but little did we know he would soon be ruining innocent lives. Today is the day me and my best friend Katie found out about “The Toxic Shot” and that it would be used to kill every woman in the United States. At first we looked at each other and thought this was some type of sick joke but then we kept paying attention to the TV and found out how and why the government would do such a thing. Suddenly the president's face showed up on the screen and he started talking, “Hello ladies and gentleman of the US I have an announcement to make, I think that women are unnecessary and needy, This is why I have decided to get rid of them once and for all, if…

Every field of medicine is extremely important in its own way and that fascinates me but one of the best days of my life was the day that my nephew was born on April 9, 2014. It was such a beautiful, breathtaking experience. A life, no, a baby breathing in oxygen for the first time; the sounds of their screams throughout the hospital room. The light illuminating on their pale pink skin, it's something that I'll never be able to forget. I knew that some people would've been horrified at someone delivering a baby…

    1) Briefly describe your exposure to medicine As the daughter of a pediatrician, the medical field has surrounded me my entire life. However, my familiarity with the details of medicine expanded at age 15 when I began to volunteer at the C.A.R.E. Clinic, which provides medical care for the uninsured. My internship at a medical examiner’s office exposed me to the anatomy and physiology of the human body and the medical causes of death. In college, I explored medicine by volunteering in the emergency department at Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota in St. Paul and participated in a Global Medical Brigades trip to rural Honduras.…

Looking through my phone, I stumbled upon a headline from CNN that immediately caught my attention: “Cost of life-saving EpiPens up over 400%.” When I first read the title, the image of one of my friends rushed to my mind. This friend has an extensive list of severe allergies, requiring her to own and carry multiple EpiPens everywhere she goes. Additionally, I had lived through situations where individuals began to present redness on their skin, cough, and shortness of breath, which could have escalated to anaphylactic shock. These personal experiences and my interest in the medical field have allowed me to understand more about life-threatening allergies.…
