What is jealousy? Wikipedia defines jealousy as being an emotion, and the word typically refers to the thought and feelings of insecurity, fear, concern, and anxiety over an anticipated loss of status of something of great personal value, particularly in reference to a human connection. In its original meaning, jealousy is distinct from envy, though the two terms have popularly become synonyms in the English language, with jealousy now also taking on the definition originally for envy alone. For example, when I was younger, my older cousins used to be jealous of me and my other cousin because of the attention that we used to receive from our grandfather. I do not understand even to this day why they were. My grandfather used to get my cousin and I everything that we asked for from him and my older cousins were jealous.
