In the article “Through the Window at Disney: A Lifetime of Brand Desire,” Susan Bennett and Marlis Schweitzer critically analyse a feature of Disneyland: the “Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique.” Bennet and Schweitzer offer detailed descriptions of the boutique while critically responding to the services it provides, such as the Princess makeover. The article gives evidence to suggest that the Princess makeover uses child consumer/models to embody the “Disney fantasy” in a crafty method of “brandscaping” (28, 25). Using this article as a reference, I will critically analyze scenes from Disney animated films such as The Princess and the Frog as well as some relevant Disney products and experiences. I will pay particular attention to the messages being…

Apple was to help balance out my portfolio, and it caused a terrible loss and required myself to sell the stock after just one week. Finally, WWE, I knew was also a riskier stock and during the start was turning into a nice profit but in the middle of the second week turned and began trending downward. Overall I lost a total of $261. Based on this analysis it shows I had more negative stocks then positive as my top three made more then my bottom three, but my middle stocks cause a negative loss of $62. Leading to an overall profit of $223 and a successful…

From my experience during the stock market game I found out that the market is very random and could take the wrong turn at any moment. There will be days where the market will just crash on you or it could go the other way around and you could accumulate a ton of profit. At the beginning of the game I didn’t know what to do so I just bought random stocks that the website suggested to me. I got my friend, who was already familiar with the stock concept because he was in Mr. Barton’s Finance class to teach me what and how the stock market worked.…

In the first week of doing stocks I started with American Express and bought all the stocks that I thought would gain the most money. All of those stocks included products that I knew would have good business and wouldn’t be likely to lose a major amount of money these stocks included Imax, Mcgraw, Microsoft, and took a chance with both Coach and Go pro. Go Pro was probably the worst one to pick as they lost a lot of money the first few weeks a lot more money than I thought they would. I also knew about a company called AMD they made graphic cards for both the Xbox one and Ps4 so I thought they would have actually gained the most money out of all the other companies as they had a lot of rep with gaming companies.…

My investing goal was to buy a Jeep for a cross country road trip. For this i’ll need $21,000. My strategy to meet my goal is reading news and articles upon stocks on MarketWatch News and picking stocks that are priced in between their 52 week high and low when I purchase them. This is because it has significant room to increase more from when I first bought it therefore I’ll get a bigger gain when I sell the stock. However I did not use this strategy right off the bat, I played around with the stock market game first till I fully understood it.…

Background Prior to the Investopedia simulation I had very limited exposure to the stock market, only knowing of the existence of the TSX, NYSE, among other stock exchanges. Last year I started an Investopedia account and casually traded stocks without knowing any techniques or strategy, and managed my account which only had one or two stocks. I started it because I believed that Research in Motion, of whom was performing poorly on the stock exchange, would do better. I wanted to see if I was correct and what the return would have been.…

Research is necessary to be successful in the stock market. By supporting its position, this paper will provide a survey of scholarship on the subject. In 2006, The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham with commentary by Jason Zweig discussed Peter Lynch’s rule: “No one should ever invest in a company, no matter how great its products or how crowded its parking lot, without studying its financial statements and business value” (Zweig 126). This rule contradicted the belief that one can pick stocks without doing any homework.…
