Mi Familia Cultural Analysis

My culture heritage is Mexican. Both my parents are born and raised in Mexico. What that means to me is a sense of being proud to come from a culture where there has been many pain and suffrage but yet people over come and look at the beauty of it also the diversity of faces and color in Mexico they are not all the same you have different color of people and different style of living from the different type of food they eat to the different type of homes they live in. One of the basic Mexican traditions is Mother stays at home to take care and look after the children while father is out at work. Due to survival needs and the need to provide for the family that was something my parents had to let go of. My parents had to face the fact that unless they wanted to be poor forever my mother staying at home was not going to function. When the police captured Chucho they did not try to arrest him there goal was to kill him. During the scene you see the the police hunt him down and shoot him multiple times one in the head; the police mans reaction was to jump of joy and proud as if chuchos dead body was a prize he had just won. During the movie Memo who came out to be the pride and joy of the family because he became a lawyer brought his fiance and her parents to meet the Sanchez family. During that reunion Memo who was know William did not let the family speak freely of the way they actually were as if he were embarrassed of the stories his father told.The Sanchez family was impacted tremendously first by Chuchos lost especially because Jimmy the youngest witness his death and the reaction of the policemen. Jimmy went bad and kept going in and out of jail. For Memo’s actions it seemed as if the family just accepted what Memo had done and moved on from
