Although I am not a part of a traditionally underrepresented group in terms of race or gender, I feel I could contribute to diversity in terms of cultural background. My parents were refugees from Vietnam, as a result of the Vietnam War, whom sought a better future in America. Throughout my life, I have been taught life lessons by my parents regarding the world, such as the ability to achieve my goals by working hard and seizing opportunities when they arrive. As a result, my character has reflected my parent's cultural background. Thus, my character and personality could help the diversity of the CSE
