My Cruise Essay

I was so excited. Though I was 2 weeks early, I was packed and ready. The weeks prior to the cruise were the longest weeks of my life. All I was thinking about was how fun it would be, how cool the water would feel on my warm skin, and how much free ice cream I could eat once we arrived. I had always wanted to go on a cruise, but I was always too young and wouldn’t be able to do much, but splash around in the shallow end of the pool. Two years before I would be going on my very first cruise, my aunts and uncles, along with my parents, went on a big family cruise, no kids of course. *Rolls eyes* It was summer so me and all my cousins stayed at my grandma's where we complained about having no fun while still running fast through her house.

It was our first stop. We were in Cozumel, Mexico. It smelled like home, like the fields and the backyard of my family in Mexico’s house. I had only gone to Mexico once in my life and I absolutely loved it. My great grandma was there, along with my favorite aunt and uncle. I had a blast making tortillas and eating authentic comida Mexicana. So being there again kept me a little eager and enthusiastic. We went down and there was a giant counter with a bunch of things that I actually liked for breakfast; Pancakes, Waffles, Sausage, Bacon, and so much more! I immediately lit up inside and a big smile came across my face. All of it was so delicious and I ate as much as my small stomach can handle! The rest of the day was so much fun. The sun created a perfect temperature, the wind kept us cool, and the water at the beach was great!. You could hear the wind blowing and the air felt nice and fluffy. We went on bouncy castles on the water all day and shopped till we dropped at the market. My dad bought me a necklace that a man shaped into my name with a sharp knife. I knew that I would cherish that necklace for the rest of my life. It’s was a necklace and it was something small, but it has a lot of meaning to me. I realized that I had a great time and that I could've had the same amount of fun the previous day. I was with my family the whole day, I could've gone to the kids room upstairs and hung out with my brother. I vowed that day that I would appreciate the little things I had and live in the moment. All I can say is that the rest of the cruise was something that I would never

I woke up and I only had two hours of sleep, and my flight was leaving in two more hours. My head was pounding, I had a terrible headache and my throat was dry and in need of water, so I drank lots of Gatorade to avoid dehydration. My father picked me up at Renata’s house, and then we went to pick up my luggage and my aunts who were traveling back to the United States with me. To be honest, we could have done anything on my last day and I would have been fine with it, all I wanted to do was spend my last hours with my cousins, that I have been able to build great relationships with. I made every second count enjoying every last one, first we went to a fancy restaurant, then we explored an old castle and learned all types of things about the history of it and Puerto Rico, and finally, we finished off our day in San Juan looking out into the crystal clear ocean at a beautiful sunset. After that, we headed back to the hotel, I had about 2 hours left before having to leave for my flight. Consequently, we decided to just chill out talk and play some card games, and we had a great time. Finally that time had come, in which we had to part ways, it was very emotional because I had gotten really close to my cousins and I knew would miss them a…
