The children’s picture book ‘A Home for a Bilby’ is written by Joanne Crawford and illustrated by Aboriginal artist Grace Fielding. The first attraction to ‘A Home for Bilby’ arises when viewing the striking cover. Fielding has illustrated a screen-printed image of a gathering of dot-painted Australian animals. The uniqueness of the cover and feature of native Australian animals will intrigue young children to follow shy Bilby on her journey to a new home. I remembered how confident and prepared I had felt before beginning my college adventure. This picture appears to present an image of a typical day in the life of a family in the 1970’s. The children are playing outside in the fresh air, under the watchful eyes of their parents. This scenario seems preferable to children sitting inside playing video games on their computer, but sometimes danger lurks in the background and those living life in the forefront are oblivious to it. In this image, a mother and father are standing in front of their home. Their home is modest, but well cared for.…

When I was around 4 my skin was probably pretty delicate because of my age, so One day, I was playing outside running around and I slipped on some sand on the ground sliding my knee onto pavement scraping almost the entire skin off the knee. I remember the next part very well because I started bleeding profusely; you could've literally saw the flesh. Luckily I didn't need stitches all it took was a large bandage wrap around my left knee. When the skin finally healed, it left a scar; to this day though, the scar is now hardly noticeable and very small in size. I once burned myself with the car cigarette lighter when I was young.…

In order to create this art piece, I will be using Mayfair paper cut in 7” by 9” s. This is because, the size imitates a common comic book size giving a real life feeling. Next I have decided to use Faber-castell and staedtler crayons as my medium. This is because it will allow me to create a neat look. I decided not to use acrylic or watercolour paint because we have not had enough practice using it in class.…

The first mask I wore had a hole in each eye the size of a dime. I started with this one because I thought I would be able to work on an assignment because I still had half the use of both my eyes, but it was still difficult. The assignment I was working on involved reading a book and then typing out answers to questions that were found from the reading. This was difficult because I had to constantly be looking back and forth between the book and my computer but I did not have full use of my eyes so it was hard to read the book.…
