My Core Values Of Happiness, Personal Development, Growth, And Growth

Improved Essays
My three personal core values are happiness/enjoyment, personal development/ growth, and excellence. I put happiness as my number one core value because I believe that happiness is more important than schoolwork. In order to succeed in the classroom or anywhere else I think that a person should first be happy. If someone isn’t happy then they probably won’t care about their work because they’ll be too sad to focus. My next personal core value is personal development or growth. I think that milestones are a great way to see how far someone has come. When things are measureable, it is easy to see growth. For instance, if I got a 75 on a chemistry test, I would want to work to get at least a B on my next test. When the next test rolls around, I pull out an 85. Knowing that I increased my grade on a test by 10 points makes me happy …show more content…
My three goals are to pass all my classes with a B or better, get more scholarship money to lessen the amount of college debt for when I graduate, and finally, to have better time management skills. I would like to get at least a B in all my classes because I want to strive for excellence. I think if I work hard next semester I could get a better grade than a B but I think having a solid B average would be good. I think that my most important goal would be having effective time management skills. I believe that if my time is managed properly I wouldn’t be stressed about schoolwork or assignments. I’m better at time management then I was at the beginning of the year but I still believe that I can have better time management skills. Next semester I plan on using my planner more and setting out specific times that I need to study. I am a person who works well with schedules so I believe that if I were to plan out three hours a day, every day, for me to sit in the library and get my work done then I wouldn’t be as stressed as I am currently. I believe if I stick to my plan then this goal

(Sukiennik 37)I choose this quote because, I believe that people deal with this on a daily bases. Like advertising, its set up by a corporation and their values to influence the person to buy their product. For example a beauty product can alter a person's opinion about themselves give the people a choice over a cheap imitation product or a product that will last but more expensive. But in reality it all depends on a person values on their decision on making that choice whether they want to buy an expensive product that may cost them 50 dollars or buy cheap imitation that will cost 10 dollars but, doesn't last that long.…

As I reflect on my personal life I value life itself to the point I live each day not knowing what to expect the next day. Positivity is a major factor in all that I do to the point of trying to view all things in a positive way and leaving the negativity out the door. As a mother, partner, educator, and entrepreneur I strive to be mindful, spiritual, and conscious of all my actions. I value these things because this is what makes up my life and what I live for each day. My life is a fourth generation person and I relate because I “want to live, love, learn, and leave it like a seed with balance and joy" (Covey, 73) the quality of my life is more important than planning it out.…
