My Core Values Analysis

Improved Essays
My core values include honor, family, service to others, responsibility, openness, courtesy, compassion, leadership, self-discipline, ambition, perseverance and a commitment to understanding others and making the world a better place. I hold these ideals close to my heart and strive to practice them every single day. If I am accepted, the school can expect to benefit from my desire to be true to these values.
I was born an only child where I grew up mostly under the influence of my parents. My parents made the greatest impact on me growing up because of their selfless support and dedication to my growth. They provided me the luxury of a private school education, enrolled me in sports and extracurricular activities, presented me opportunities for me to travel to expand my exposure to other cultures and encouraged my creative interests and talents. I am thankful for the tools that they provided me because these experiences helped form my core values

They were helpful in providing me guitar and piano lessons and they also supported all my decisions to participate in artistic performances like choir and musical in high school. Due to this support, I continue to expand my interest and push my capabilities in my involvement in the arts. For instance, during my second year of college, I joined a songwriting class, with no previous experience of writing songs and wrote several original songs in the span of one semester. My core values of ambition and perseverance aided in my creation of those songs and my earning of an A in the class. It is one of my beliefs that I can do anything with hard work and dedication. Now, as a hobby, I enjoy teaching myself music theory and improving my guitar and piano skills during my free time.
