Reflection On Cooperative Education

1. Introduction
My Cooperative education was completed as an intern at Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA), in Wellington. My work was centred around tourism, specifically voluntourism, and the establishment of VSA’s form of voluntourism, learning journeys. During this internship, I was mentored by the CEO, Gill Greer, which allowed me to observe her passion for sustainable development. Gill believes that the success of sustainable development can be achieved through improvement of human rights, health, education, and empowerment of women. Gill was an inspirational mentor, with incredible wisdom and advice to offer. I have learnt so much from Gill, and this experience has fuelled my passion for sustainable development and the empowerment of women.

I began exercising six times a week, despite making less than half of what I was making when I was back in Auckland, I am saving significantly more money, applying for graduate positions, developing relationships at work and with my extended family, including grandparents, and young cousins that I do not see often. I believe that this self-development was immensely important for me to learn. It has allowed me to mature, and prepare for the future, and begin living a healthier lifestyle. I believe this will help me in the future as not only am I living a healthier lifestyle, but I have essentially already surpassed the shock of adulthood when going into my first job, therefore, would be able to focus on that …show more content…
It resulted in my inability to listen to lectures, or discuss the project with classmates, thus, making me unable to clarify what I was meant to be doing for my studies. Yet, due to my weekly Skype calls with my cooperative education mentor, it meant that if I was able to stay ahead in my work, then I was able to ask my mentor to clarify any questions that I had come across. Therefore, I was required to either use my initiative to solve the questions that I had, on my own or manage my time to ensure that I was able to stay on top of both my work and university

I started being more energetic on normal days instead of my lethargic lazy and sadly, normal self. It turns out that working out has more positives than just gaining muscle and strength. About halfway through the first semester of weights, I began becoming more courageous. I am a naturally shy person, to be honest, I do not like talking to people at all. The courage or whatever it was that I gained from working out gave me the strength to be able to talk to more people and to become a little more…

I understand that in the beginning it's going to be complicated, but it's for the best. There are so many health issues we can prevent or at least lower our risk from them if we exercise! We could go for a walk in the evening or at least on my way to school or to places I have to walk to take longer routes. Also, taking things steady is one of my biggest wants, because in class I noticed with an electrocardiograph that you make a bigger effort every time I move, sit or do something small. Now, imagine how much more effort you put in when I get angry, frustrated or simply panic.…

For my research project I researched personal training and how I could become successful and use my passion for fitness as a means of supporting myself whilst traveling Australia, I learned how to become a personal trainer and the processes I would have to go through to become qualified. By achieving my goal I hope to be able to demonstrate evidence of my capability to grow personally and professionally. I had difficulty defining a question that relates to success as a personal trainer (PT) which incorporates travelling around Australia. In hindsight, trying to put the two together was probably a mistake as they are two very distinct things that will need to happen at different times. For example, only after becoming an accredited trainer…

During the time I was taking realage test, I did not have any indication that it would foretell my real age approximately from the answers that I provided on that test. While answering the questions to predict what my real age would be, I read all the questions prudently and answered each question genuinely on my understanding. I felt very curious as well happy to take the realage test because the questions on that were very interesting, simple and tough as well because there were some questions which I could not answered correctly, but had to checked no. Like, there were some questions asked like what is my HDL level? and Cholesterol level?…

Introduction Sustainable tourism has been defined in a number of ways by tourists and the most acceptable meaning seems to be “Sustainable tourism is the concept of visiting a place as a tourist and trying to make only a positive impact on the environment, society and economy (Lisse, 2014).” The fundamental premise behind sustainable tourism is that the tourism activities respect the locals who call that place home, their culture as well as their custom, and as well as the socioeconomic system. While often confused with eco-tourism, it is not eco-tourism, while; eco-tourism is only a sub-set of sustainable tourism.
