Coming from Nepal, a country vastly different from the United States both culturally and academically, my time here at TCC NE campus has been one of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling experiences. If that were the case, my Ivy League educated professors would never have pushed me both academically and individually. If quality of education was a problem at community college why were many students who transferred to big universities came back to TCC so they would get more immersive and rich experience. As for college life, if a student makes an effort to immerse themselves in the community college environment you can have friendship that you could have never imagined in a university setting. In a time of inflated college tuition, the affordability of community college is simply . Despite the array of benefits and offerings that many universities cannot provide, community colleges are looked down upon as a cheap and a substitute of college education where in reality you get the best educational experience for the best price possible. Coming from a different country with different ideas and aspirations, it was quite difficult for me to find myself in my new home. There were times I wanted to go back to my country. However, my peers and people at TCC believed in my skills when I couldn’t believe in myself. They saw the character and resolve in me that I couldn’t see. Today I have learned to give my best regardless of anything that comes my way. Today I stand proud and tall to be part of my community
