College Experience The college experience is my initial step into finding my future career. Leaving home for the first time in my life and finding out if I have the skills to make it in the real world. Continuing my education in hopes of finding a great career and making lots of money for a leisurely lifestyle. Leaving my home and city for the first time and opening a new chapter in life. Not seeing people that I’m used to seeing everyday and adjusting to a different kind of lifestyle. It is a make it or break it moment in life.
Adjusting to life on campus wasn’t difficult because there are no more of those parent rules anymore, Freedom to make all of my own choices without having to consult anyone anymore. There I was making what I considered decent money and made a couple of friends that I still keep in contact with now. There was no long time future there for me and I used to look around and look and see that certain people are going to be doing that job for years and years to come and I instantly knew my time in school wasn’t done. The managers were probably making more than double what we were and that was also contributing factor in me continuing my education. Hoping to find a career where I won’t have to worry about bills and hopefully buying a brand new car at some point.
The college experience is unlike any other life experience because I see it like a test to see what I’m made of and seeing if I’m prepared for life beyond living at home. Proving to myself that I’m capable of becoming a self-made man and inspiration to others who may need it.
