A young African American boy from a small town named Ashburnham. I have come a long way from my childhood going into college. When i was young boy i remember how irresponsible i was. I would always leave my lunch on my 3rd grade hook. I soon got over that then in middle school i would have a habit of losing all my sweatshirts my mom bought me. Its funny looking back on the immature things i did back then. Another huge thing was back then through middle school i was a horrible student. Possibly the lowest of the low. I didn't care about school. So because of that i was put in a class for kids with a learning disability. I hated that class i said every year i would get out and i knew i didn't have one. The truth was looking back i was just lazy. …show more content…
When i got my first job at Cushing Academy a prestigious private school i was very nervous. When i stepped in i didn't know what i was doing at first and i had no rank. I was confused and did not know what to do. After 2 months of hard work I moved on to training other people. I was trusted by my boss to teach other people the way to work at cushing dining. at that moment I felt I had truly grown up. This new responsibility gave me the real new thought of growing up. After i started training people i gained new opportunities. Such as learning new jobs which were cleaner and less stressful such as pizza and pots. Also at that moment i was going to high school doing homework then the gym and more homework. I have a very busy schedule to accomplish my goals. Just using a calender alone to manage my time is another moment where i felt i grew up. Doing this schedule gives me little to no free time. I don't get to be with my friends and family as much as i want to. However i feel that's a part of growing up. Managing my time effectively. Another moment where i felt i grew up was managing the revenue i was receiving from my job. Just doing adult things like going to the bank by myself and paying for my own

I am willing to bet that there are many astonishing young men and women who have applied for this scholarship. I am also willing to bet there are a fair amount of applicants who meet the unwritten standards needed to receive this scholarship. I will not boast promises of outstanding grades or how this money could build my future. Instead, I will tell of my past, allowing my personality speak for itself. Growing up my parents always encouraged my siblings and me to stay true to ourselves, whether that is morally, mentally, and/or physically.…

For as long as I can remember, movies and television have been my escape. No matter what was going on in my life, I could always get lost in the fantastical adventures of Star Wars or even the mundane happenings in The Office. With each new story that I consumed, my mind created five more. For me, writing just started out as a way for me to clear all of these thought-tangents out of my head. I would keep random journals everywhere and just jot down whatever came to me throughout the day.…

Through my experience, my freshman and sophomore years as a musician were terrifying. On top of the shock of the new atmosphere at school, I had to play my instrument with and in front of others, which was quite a stretch for me at the time. I would always beat myself up about minute mistakes I had glorified during rehearsals, playing tests, and especially auditions. However, after I did not make an Illinois Allstate ensemble my junior year, my approach to these nerve-wracking situations completely changed. Instead of thinking failing negatively, those uncomfortable experiences actually made me improve as I had taken more auditions.…
