How To Write An Autobiography Essay

Growing up, there was never much for me to do. I was the only child for a while, up until the age of four or five; the most critical and memorable ages for a child, I still remember those kindergarten days on the playground, no one would really play or interact with me. They would call me names, like weird or tomboy because I was the only girl playing in dirt, and talking to myself. I didn’t play tag with the other girls or talk about boys or dolls and other unimportant things that five year olds talked about. I talked to myself because I knew no one else would. I didn’t fit in. I didn’t have friends to play with and when I did, they were never that nice to me or either they forgot about me the next day. When I got home, all I wanted to do was make things; write, spell, draw. As I grew a little older, I got better at telling stories. I discovered the power of putting words together to form sentences, then form paragraphs from those sentences and soon, a whole narrative. I even published my first “book” to my school’s library when I was six, it was a short picture book that contained drawings of my family and me and some anecdotes of my life. I never got it back unfortunately, but I still have the memories luckily. …show more content…
I love seclusion because it helps me think. I am perfectly content in the comfort of my mind. I like to be able to think, and the only way that I think best is when I am completely alone; without the distraction of someone else’s voice clouding my thoughts... I like when I am able to form stories right off the top of my head; writing comes naturally, like a second nature or sixth sense for me. I feel content when I am alone, perfectly secluded and in total silence, sometimes using music to guide me, it helps with the free flow of words and images when I listen to meaningful lyrics. Solitude can be such a frightening word to most people. Most human beings are naturally social creatures, and see solitude as an analog to being a social outcast or a hermit. It’s simply not true, in those moments alone can help someone reevaluate themselves. Tupac Shakur spent some of his time in solitude pondering goals, trying to find and define himself without compromising who he is. I spend some of my moments in solitude, it allows me to find clarity and reflect on how to approach things in life.…

As a little kid all I ever wanted to do was go outside and play with my friends and on top of that the house we were living in was right next to a park. But instead of going outside and playing with friends I was trapped inside having to read a book I didn’t even want to read. Also in those years I started to not like writing because I just hate to write especially when you have to read an article and write about it or answer questions because in my mind I don’t see why we have to do it. Why does what I think about that matter and why do I have to write a lot, I was a little kid with little hands and writing a lot starts to hurt your hand and it’s not…

Waiting to Arrive~ When I was in the second grade I stepped out of a bookmobile carrying Roald Dahl’s James and a Giant Peach. As I descended the two steps to the sidewalk I opened the book and began reading, and by the time I closed it a few weeks later I knew I wanted to be a writer. That dream has been a long time coming. As I grew I’d envision myself as I’d seen famous writer’s depicted: solemn loners in misshaped hats surrounded by books and pipe smoke, with bright sunlight flooding their desks.…

In Ian Frazier’s essay “In Praise of Margins,” he sees marginal places and activates valuable. The very word marginal to Ian Frazier has a simple meaning of a “negative tinge” (Frazier) where it is defined as actions and decisions that are non-goal oriented, or without purpose. In Frazier’s Own life, a marginal activity and a place for him and his friends were out in the woods as it was there “part-time address, destination, purpose, and excuse” (Frazier). However, growing up Frazier and his friends had the woods as their marginal activity which was often seen by society as unbeneficial. But, from an academic perspective, I agree with Frazier that marginal activates are important.…

In my eyes, religion has always been a very interesting topic because of the way that I have been raised as well as the exposure I have had to other religions. I was brought up in a very conservative household in South Carolina and am a fairly religious person. I was born and raised as a Christian and when I was young, I attended Sunday school. As I grew older, I began to attend Church with my parents and began to enjoy learning the lessons conveyed through the Bible. Church was a very important tradition that my family took part in because it was time that we spent together, which was sometimes difficult because my father is a surgeon with an extremely busy schedule.…

Even at a younger age I had an extremely high desire to pick up a book, and write my own. The writer that I was back in my elementary and high school days is an abundantly differently writer than the writer I am today. Naturally that 's supposed to be expected, but I 've appreciated the way I always improved on my writing, the more I learned about how to write. It was similar to the way William Zinsser from, "The Act of Writing: One Man 's Method" changed in the way he wrote. The tools he used in the beginning were eventually updated and that changed the way he wrote, and even the way he saw the way he wrote.…
