My Childhood In Texas

Improved Essays
I have had many wonderful memories of my childhood in Texas, but I have one memory that was a scare at the time. The heat in Texas is sometimes really crucial. It so happened that day had to be one. She had taken us to a park where a family gathering was being held. Many of my family members were there. They greeted me to the gathering with hugs and kisses. My cousins then wanted to go play. They asked me if I wanted to play tag,I said “yes”. That was a mistake. We ran and ran around the park, chasing each other & hiding. Running as fast as we could to catch up to one another. The feeling just grew stronger and stronger as I sat there. Then finally I decided to wash it down with some water. I stepped off the playground and onto the grass, I started running to the picnic shelter. All my family were under the picnic shelter. I tried to yell for water, but my voice didn’t release sound. I struggled to call for help, for no one would look my way. Gasping for air as I run and try to yell. Still no one looks my way. I tried to make hand motions as I was terrified, because to me nothing like this has happened before. I felt really scared.
But then I see my aunt turnover to reach for something in her bag. I wave and wave for her to see me. I got her attention! She looks up and sees me running. I show her I can’t say anything by opening my mouth and trying to yell. She gets up and starts running to me screaming. She picks me up and carries me to the picnic shelter . She sits me on a picnic table. The table was hot from the piece of sun the shelter didn’t cover. But I still sat

Jealousy is just another part of everyday life. As shown in Bobbie Ann Mason 's "Being Country", the story just shows that it 's normal to be envious of others and just look at positive things in their lives while ignoring the negative things.
