My Chemical Romance Song Analysis

Improved Essays
Romance- Although it isn’t an original My Chemical Romance song, and it contains no words, I found the music to be very beautiful and hypnotic.

Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough For The Both Of Us- This song is classic MCR,( extremely emo), but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Vampires Will Never Hurt You- I didn’t like the particular set-up, or the whispering featured at the end and the middle of the song. The lyrics weren’t my favorite either. Something just didn’t click for me.

Drowning Lessons- I loved Gerard’s vocals in this, and the lyrics gave a beautifully depressing vibe, especially the end of the song, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Our Lady Of Sorrows- The fast paced guitar solo grabbed my attention, along with Gerard’s profanities,

It’s a twisted love song, that you could easily identify as My Chemical Romance.

The Sharpest Lives- I absolutely loved the chorus and the guitar solo, Ray and Mikey killed it. The first eight lines of the song were amazing as well.

I Don’t Love You- As much as I loved the concept of this song, along with the video, the music and the way Gerard sang just didn’t do it for me.

House Of Wolves- This song took a much different turn than I expected, as I had only heard the opening notes of the song before. That said, I did enjoy the song very much. I loved how after the first verse and the chorus Gerard repeatedly spelled the word ‘sin’.

Sleep- From the start of the song, I felt extremely depressed. The voice recording was very sad, along with the chorus. The last minute or so of the song, was very heartwrenching. I was actually close to tears listening to this song, as I felt like the band members were deeply in touch with the song, like it was personal to them.

Cancer- I knew from the title that this would be a very sad song, and I was right. Especially the last 30 seconds of the song. Although it’s short, it most definitely pulls on your heart

Top Ten Christian band Twenty One Pilots declared its musical manifesto three years ago in the song “Car Radio,” “I will try with every rhyme to come across like I am dying to let you know you need to try to think.” Twenty One Pilots’ hit “Stressed Out” is currently played on secular radio stations across the country and in Europe, and the duo is selling out concerts at every venue. Even though they are open about their faith, the band continues to sneak like a hacker through the world’s default gospel-rejection mechanism. While the dialectic voice confuses secular reporters, the message of salvation carries through to their listeners. “When I first listened to their music I was like, I’m not alone.…

I cry because I relate to every single word that they sing. This song brings back all the horrible memories when I used to be suicidal. I also feel happy because I know that this song gets the message across for teens who are around my age, who feel that they aren't worth it. “1-800-273-8255” is definitely an anthem for suicide prevention. Although they never mention the actual number, you still get the message across and they highlight what someone with suicidal thoughts is going through.…

I chose the song "Break Up In A Small Town" because it accurately describes my life. About 6 months ago, my boyfriend and I broke up. Once we broke up I started talking to one of his friends, but not out of spite. We seemed very compatible and liked each other very much. I actually started listening to this song during the mess, and told everyone that the song described my life perfectly.…

There's no denying that John Legend is one of the strongest standing balladeers left that made modern mainstream music still susceptible to pure emotions of love and feelings. It is with John Legend that we heard songs reminiscent of the effect that Boyz II Men and Babyface showered us during the bountiful industry of the 1990s---saccharine-rich tracks that's certainly difficult to go unnoticed. In just a couple of years, John Legend managed to establish his own placement as a respected and relative pop icon, and with the latest album that he released, he further cemented his fame to stability. John Legend's innate capability to connect with his audience had done him so well during the course of his career, and putting love as a strong emotional push helped him to keep his momentum all-flowing.…

Foreword Before delving into the prescribed analysis as required by this assignment, I feel it necessary to provide some background as to why I chose this song as I could have seemingly chosen any other just as easily; however, throughout my troubled years, I found myself frequenting not only this song, but the entire album as well. In my younger years, back when i enjoyed the company of my older siblings on a daily basis before their departure to college, we all struggled in our dealings with our alcoholic, emotionally abusive father. Ironically, the broken bonds shared between my father, my siblings and I initiated the bittersweet genesis of the unbreakable bonds I am so lucky to share with each of my siblings. None, however, compare to the relationship my brother and I kindled out of the ashes of our house’s burnt and broken foundation.…
