A childhood suffused with nightly Catholic educational classes, various mass attendances with family on occasions, and the finalization of faith documented with a certificate exhibiting the completion of being confirmed. I am a Catholic. From birth to adulthood, all I ever experienced was teachings from the bibles and the customs followed. The Roman Catholic faith plays a vital role in my life, as a result of my mother's influence, as I continue to participate in the events common to it and use aspects of the belief and implement them into my daily life decisions. Attending a Catholic college, I am fortunate enough that my dorm holds weekly night masses every Tuesday night. Scriptures read, blessings given, and greetings returned, continuing the traditions of Catholicism was an effortless transition as I continue life away from home. Despite the convenience of having a mass less than a corner away, it is taxing trying to find a balance between homework, hanging out with friends and attending mass weekly. It was the beginning of the fall semester when I was examining the list of clubs and after-school activities posted on the college roster that I noticed the club Circle K. Before college, I have participated in the high school version called Key Club, which engages in regular voluntary events for the community. From what I know, the Catholic faith emphasizes the value of charity work and for me to continue pursuing volunteering opportunities for the community allows me to fulfill one of the various teachings of the religion.
