Why I Want To Pursue A Business Degree

For a long time, I thought I had my life planned out. I thought I knew where I wanted to go to school and live, I even thought I knew who I wanted to marry. I wanted to be a lawyer in the military and work my way up through the ranks to the office of Secretary of Defense, and that was it: no personal life or anything else. Once I got out of my parents’ house and started to live I realized all the things I thought I want or thought I was interested in; all those things were just things I was told to like or do. I tried to stay close to what my family wanted me to do, while trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life. My next plan was maybe I could just be a lawyer and figure everything else out after law school, but just three years in to a degree and I hated it so much I dropped out for a year to find my peace of mind. This degree is not needed to obtain a business licensed but those who have this degree are more successful with their business. This degree will help you understand how to run a profitable business. It will show you the other side of owning a business besides just knowing how to do a job, in other words a business degree will show you how to be a boss. “The coursework required for completing a business degree provides students with real-world skills that are necessary to be competitive in the job market and successful in business careers (Norte Dame College).” While obtaining at business degree you are also learning how to market yourself and how to balance your books. Also you will understand the economy better so that you understand how to budget and spend necessary money to remain profitable.
