Technology seemed like a viable option due to advances in technology happening all of the time. Speaking with friends and advisors, I decided to pursue information technology through Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSU-Global). I finally decided on a career path. I will share what I have learned about leadership and myself that will guide me down my path.

Reflecting back, I realize I would have never been happy staying in that job for the rest of my life. My personality craves challenges and I am not be satisfied unless I push myself. While working at the medical center I knew I wanted more for myself but did not know there was a reason. An assessment I took about my personality gave me insight into the reason I felt this way.
Answering personality questions about myself on a website brought up my personality type. I found myself to be extraverted, intuitive, feeling and prospecting. According to this personality profile, I become impatient with administrative tasks (“Free personality test,” 2015). This explains why I had no desire to stay in that role at the medical center.
As I mentioned, when I moved to Kansas City, I began working at a restaurant. My desire to work with people makes the food service industry a good fit for me. The flexibility and short hours that I work at the restaurant are essential to me right now. I am a full-time student, full-time mom and part-time bartender.
