My Career Path

Decent Essays
I believe everyone has to take a step back and remember why they want to go down this career path before they start that journey in their life. I know I have had a couple of moments when I had to remind myself why I want to be a teacher. Every time I remember why I chose to do this career path, it reignites my fire and keeps me going. I have many reasons for choosing the career path that I want to go down. One of the reasons I want to become a teacher is to watch students succeed from working with them and help the students realize their potential. While I was in school, I saw many students that had potential, but the teachers did not want to work with them. During those classes I told myself if I choose to become a teacher, I could be better …show more content…
One of those major influences was my 10th grade English teacher, Mr. Edge. Mr. Edge pushed me past my limits with school. In high school, most of my grades were given to me. In Mr. Edge’s class he never gave me a grade, he always challenged me to do better. At first, I thought he did not like me for some reason, and then I realized he just wanted me to succeed, to earn what I worked for in his class. Another one of my influences would be my high school football coach, Coach Newman. Coach Newman was not like most coaches, he did not just teach us about football. He taught us how to be men, and taught us life lessons. Coach Newman was the father figure that many players did not have. He took time out of his day to make sure that his players were getting their academics straight, and made sure that they were getting everything in line for college. My biggest influence is my father. My dad is a Physical Education teacher, the same field that I want to go in. I saw my dad work with all different types of students. I enjoyed watching my dad teach, and watching his students learn. I love the fact that his past students came back to school, or would see me in public and have nothing but good things to say about my dad. Those are the main reasons I wanted me to be like my dad and become a …show more content…
When I start teaching, I have many goals I want to accomplish. My main goal is to influence lives. As a teacher I want to make children want to come to school and learn. I want to help push my students to go after what they want to achieve, to go beyond measures to get what they want. Another accomplishment I would like to achieve is to be a role model. I want to be the teacher that my school did not have. My school did not have many teachers that cared about the students. I want students to have someone they can come talk to. As a teacher I want the students that do not have the positive adult figure in their life to have one. I want my students to take life lessons out of my classroom, and to apply them to

Although my aspirations in life revolve around the promise of becoming a physician, however, if this were no longer a feasible option, my alternate career path would consist of entering the field of medical research. Particularly, I would have my heart set on clinical research within the pharmaceutical industry. This stems from the fact that I have the ability to be immersed within a hospital setting, I am able to build upon the foundational concepts of each of the scientific areas of study, such as biology and chemistry, and I possess the ability to indirectly contribute to the well-being of others. As a clinical researcher, I will be permitted to test the quality, effectiveness, and safety of various medications, treatment methods, or diagnostic devices in response to the overall well-being of a patient.…
